How To Fix Your Washing Machine

Washing Machine Hums but Won’t Turn On

Ever have that horrible experience when you go to get your clothes out of the washing machine to put them in the dryer and… IT’S STILL FULL OF WATER!!!

There are a few reasons that could make this happen. One of the most common is the lid switch, I will probably do that repair next. Another possibility is the motor died but today I am going to show you one possibility that doesn’t cost anything and only takes about 30 minutes.

This should be the first thing you look for when trying to figure out why the water didn’t drain out of the washing machine. What you need to do is check for a sock in the water pump.

That’s right there might be a SOCK IN THE WATER PUMP!

All this time you have been blaming the dryer for eating your socks but this time it’s the washing machine. Here is how to fix the water pump.

  1. Unplug the washing machine

You may notice the washing machine looks dirty. I decided to clean mine while I had it apart. I show how to do this in my article “How to Clean Your Washing Machine”.

Just follow the steps 1-10 in reverse order to reassemble the washing machine.

It is as simple as that. In less than one hour and with no cost at all you have just fixed your washing machine.

Now if you are like me, you might want to clean the washing machine. After all you already have it taken apart. I know when I took the cover off and seen how nasty it looked I decided it was time to clean the washing machine.
